GEN (R) DATO' SERI DIRAJA TAN SRI (Dr.) MOHD ZAHIDI BIN HAJI ZAINUDDIN
Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi bin Haji Zainuddin, a Malaysian aged 66, was appointed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Board on 17 October 2005. He is also a member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees. Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi served the Malaysian Armed Forces for 39 years, holding many key appointments at field and Ministerial levels. He was the Chief of Defence Forces with the rank of General from 1 January 1999 until his retirement on 30 April 2005.
Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi is a graduate of Senior Executive Programme in National and International Security Harvard University, USA; Command and General Staff College, the Philipines; Joint Services Staff College Australia and National Defence College Pakistan. He also holds a Master of Science Degree (Defence and Strategic Studies) of Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan.
His current directorships in other public companies include Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad, Genting Malaysia Berhad, Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad, Genting Plantations Berhad and Parkson Asia Retail Ltd.
On 4 April 2014, he was awarded “Kurniaan Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Sultan Azlan Shah Perak Yang Amat DiMulia” (S.P.S.A) which carries the title “Dato’ Seri DiRaja”.
PROFESSOR DR YONG RAFIDAH ABD. RAHMAN
DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR ACADEMIC
Dr Yong Radah Abd. Rahman obtained her MBBS(Malaya), FAFP(M’sia), FRACGP(Australia),
FHEA(UK)PG DipRepMed(UPM) and PG DipMedEdu(Dundee). She is a Medical Doctor by profession; family medicine specialist, qualied medical teacher, medical educationist and quality assurance practitioner. She is now serving as a Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic at Asia Metropolitan University. Prior to this appointment, she was the Director for Quality Management and Enhancement and the Deputy Dean (Clinical / Academic) for the Faculty of Medicine in Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences for the past 11 years. Apart from being a qualied ISO 9001 Quality Management System Lead Auditor and Lead Internal Auditor for CUCMS; she is also an assessor of the Malaysian Medical Council and Malaysian Qualication Agency for accreditation of Malaysian medical programs. These experiences make her highly knowledgeable on quality processes and requirements of academic programs in higher education.Having been in various leadership positions in academic and training programs for both CUCMS and external organizations, she also has extensive experience in academic management in higher education.
DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ALUMNI
Mr. Demudu Naganaidu (male) , Malaysian, 48, holds a Master of Applied Statistics from University Putra Malaysia, Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Methodology from Asia Metropolitan University, Master of Business Administration from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow U.K., Bachelor of Statistics(Honors) from National University of Malaysia and is currently pursuing his PhD in Statistics from University Putra Malaysia.
Prior to holding the current position, Demudu Naganaidu was Senior Vice President Operations after holding many roles in the organization as Vice President Branch Operations, Chief Branch Officer of Ipoh Campus and Manager of Systems and Methods. He also worked as General Manager Operations of Institute Business Executive Malaysia. Prior to joining the education industry, he was attached to the banking and insurance industry for 11 years.
Mr. Puvan Balachandran (male), Malaysian, 40, holds a B.Comm (Accounting) from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia; CPA (Australia); and C.A. (Malaysia). He started his career in 1998 with an established audit firm Grant Thornton Malaysia. Since then, he has held various Finance roles in industries ranging from Stockbroking, Advisory, Oil and gas, Systems Integration, Telecommunications and Education Management.
In 2010, he joined INTI Education Group and during his tenure there, he led the Financial Planning and Analysis Department, the University’s Operations and Finance Department and the Product and Partnership Management Department. He joined Asia Metropolitan University in March 2017, as the Bursar and is responsible for Strategy, Enrollment, IT, Finance, Facilities, Human Resources and Operations.
TAN SRI DATO’ SERI ABD GHAFAR BIN MAHMUD
Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abd. Ghafar bin Mahmud was previously the Director General of Education, Ministry of Education of Malaysia. Beginning as a teacher in 1977 within the Malaysian Education Officer Service, he further developed his career by serving in various capacities and levels in the schools, State Education Department and the Ministry of Education. He served as a school principal from 1998 to 2001. In 2001 he was appointed as a Principal Assistant Director in School Division of the Ministry of Education and was progressively promoted as the head of various divisions in the Ministry i.e. the Director of Sports Division, Chief Inspector of the School Inspectorate Division and Director of the Institute Aminuddin Baki (educational leadership training centre).
Currently, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abd Ghafar is serving as the Chairman for Perbadanan Kota Buku, Yayasan Genovasi and Yayasan Sarana Pendidikan. The Ministry has also appointed him as an advisor for special projects i.e. Fully Residential Schools and the development of Young Teachers. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of PADU (Education Performance Delivery Unit) under the Ministry of Education, Yayasan Tenaga Nasional and Yayasan Telekom Malaysia.
PROFESSOR DATO’ DR MAHMOOD NAZAR MOHAMED
Dato’ Dr Mahmood obtained his Dip Science (ITM); B.Sc (BioSc) & B.A (Psy) Point Park University, Pittsburgh; M.A (Psy) Duquesne University, Pittsburgh; and PhD (Psy) from National University, Malaysia (UKM). Prior to his present appointment, Professor Mahmood served University Utara Malaysia as Professor, Dean, Director and Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC Academic Affairs and DVC Development)); he also served as Deputy Director-General (Operations) at the National Anti-Drugs Agency; Deputy President (Academic and Student Affairs) at CUCMS; and DVC (Academic and R&D) at AMU.
Over the years of his academic career, Professor Mahmood has conducted several research projects with funding from UNODC, WHO-WPRO, NIDA and a multitude of grants from the Malaysian government, universities, NGOs and the private sector. He has published 10 books, more than 60 journal articles and presented over 300 papers in national and international meetings. He was the president of Malaysian Psychological Society (PSIMA) for two terms; served in numerous Board of Editors in national and international journals; consultants to over a dozen national and international organizations; MQA program and institutional for more than 10 years; presently a commissioner for the Colombo Plan International Centre for Credentialing and Education for Addiction Professionals (CPICCE), Community and many other NGOs.
For his services, he was awarded several organizational merits and awards and AMK (Kedah, 1999), JSM (Federal, 2011) and DBNS (Negeri Sembilan, 2012)

Professor Dato’ Dr. Jayles Yeoh (male), Malaysian, 56, has been known as a dedicated entrepreneurial –thinking educationist. Having spent more than 20 years of his career in the fields of educational market development both locally and internationally, he is known for successfully promoting the “Malaysia Education” brand across the world. He has been continuously playing the key-role in contributing his views on the internationlisation of higher education through innovative approaches and new model of programme franchising to education providers worldwide.
For his effort, he’s conferred as a Professor of Globalisation by Seokyeong University in South Korea, Professor of Marketing by Beijing Oriental University China and Adjunct Professor of Global Branding Institute, USA. He is the Founder & CEO of AIMSMET Executive Education, that focuses on exporting Lifelong Training & Learning to Asia, ASEAN and the Middle East. He’s also an Honorary Fellow of the Association of Business Executives, United Kingdom, which carries the title FABE.
He is also the Vice-President & Chairman of the Education & Training Bureau, of the ASEAN Retail Chains & Franchise Federation (ARFF); Co-Chairman of the International Federation of Chamber & Commerce, (IFCC), USA; Honorary Director, Southwestern University of Finance & Economics, Sichuan, China and Advisor to Malaysia Digital Chamber of Commerce (MDCC).
