Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi bin Haji Zainuddin, a Malaysian aged 66, was appointed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Board on 17 October 2005. He is also a member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees. Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi served the Malaysian Armed Forces for 39 years, holding many key appointments at field and Ministerial levels. He was the Chief of Defence Forces with the rank of General from 1 January 1999 until his retirement on 30 April 2005.

Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi is a graduate of Senior Executive Programme in National and International Security Harvard University, USA; Command and General Staff College, the Philipines; Joint Services Staff College Australia and National Defence College Pakistan. He also holds a Master of Science Degree (Defence and Strategic Studies) of Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan.

His current directorships in other public companies include Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad, Genting Malaysia Berhad, Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad, Genting Plantations Berhad and Parkson Asia Retail Ltd.

On 4 April 2014, he was awarded “Kurniaan Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Sultan Azlan Shah Perak Yang Amat DiMulia” (S.P.S.A) which carries the title “Dato’ Seri DiRaja”.

Professor Dato' Dr Mahmood Nazar Mohamed


Dato’ Dr Mahmood obtained his Dip Science (ITM); B.Sc (BioSc) & B.A (Psy) Point Park University, Pittsburgh; M.A (Psy) Duquesne University, Pittsburgh; and PhD (Psy) from National University, Malaysia (UKM). Prior to his present appointment, Professor Mahmood served University Utara Malaysia as Professor, Dean, Director and Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC Academic Affairs and DVC Development)); he also served as Deputy Director-General (Operations) at the National Anti-Drugs Agency; Deputy President (Academic and Student Affairs) at CUCMS; and DVC (Academic and R&D) at AMU.

Over the years of his academic career, Professor Mahmood has conducted several research projects with funding from UNODC, WHO-WPRO, NIDA and a multitude of grants from the Malaysian government, universities, NGOs and the private sector. He has published 10 books, more than 60 journal articles and presented over 300 papers in national and international meetings. He was the president of Malaysian Psychological Society (PSIMA) for two terms; served in numerous Board of Editors in national and international journals; consultants to over a dozen national and international organizations; MQA program and institutional for more than 10 years; presently a commissioner for the Colombo Plan International Centre for Credentialing and Education for Addiction Professionals (CPICCE), Community and many other NGOs.

For his services, he was awarded several organizational merits and awards and AMK (Kedah, 1999), JSM (Federal, 2011) and DBNS (Negeri Sembilan, 2012)



Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abd. Ghafar bin Mahmud was previously the Director General of Education, Ministry of Education of Malaysia. Beginning as a teacher in 1977 within the Malaysian Education Officer Service, he further developed his career by serving in various capacities and levels in the schools, State Education Department and the Ministry of Education. He served as a school principal from 1998 to 2001. In 2001 he was appointed as a Principal Assistant Director in School Division of the Ministry of Education and was progressively promoted as the head of various divisions in the Ministry i.e. the Director of Sports Division, Chief Inspector of the School Inspectorate Division and Director of the Institute Aminuddin Baki (educational leadership training centre).

Currently, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abd Ghafar is serving as the Chairman for Perbadanan Kota Buku, Yayasan Genovasi and Yayasan Sarana Pendidikan. The Ministry has also appointed him as an advisor for special projects i.e. Fully Residential Schools and the development of Young Teachers. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of PADU (Education Performance Delivery Unit) under the Ministry of Education, Yayasan Tenaga Nasional and Yayasan Telekom Malaysia.
