Sumatera, 22nd June 2018 – Sekolah Tinggi Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (STKIP) Adzkia and Asia Metropolitan University (AMU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, June 7, 2018. The event was attended by delegates from AMU, Dr Anbalagan, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Dato’ Sri Dr Alex Ong and Professor Dr Mohamad Khan Jamal Khan, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, prominent members of the Adzkia Foundation of West Sumatra (YASB) and Pembina Supervisor. The signing ceremony was held in Adzkia Foundation, West Sumatra.
The whole objective of this MoU signing was meant to establish a lifelong learning partnership between both institutions. The trip aimed at developing various academic collaborations such as Research Collaborations, Journal Publications, Conferences and more to establish a solid footing for positive academic growth.
Student Exchange programmes were also among the highlights of the MoU whereby inbound and outbound students undergo an exchange to increase understanding and tolerance of other cultures while pursuing their study in countries, either Malaysia or Indonesia respectively.
Business Undergraduate, Postgraduate Programmes and Professional Courses were addressed in efforts to develop a twinning programme between both institutions. This twinning programme, however, will not only build capacity through the transfer of skills and knowledge, it will also benefit lecturers who wish to further pursue their education at AMU.
Chairman of STKIP Adzkia, Dr. Muhammad Anwar, MT mentioned that the cooperation between STKIP ADZKIA and Asia Metropolitan University in the future will continue to grow and provide good benefits for both institutions.
On this occasion, Professor Syukri Arief, a coach of Adzkia Foundation West Sumatera conveyed the profile of Adzkia and hoped to work together towards developing a dual degree programme with partner university, AMU.
Professor Muhammad Khan, the acting Vice-Chancellor of AMU said the outcome of this meeting will create wider opportunities for the country and profession to empower students to confidently face the increasingly competitive workforce in this global era. Furthermore, as a follow up of this MoU, the student exchange programme will be held in August 2018.
