Professor Dr. Mohamad Khan, Malaysian is currently serving as the Vice Chancellor at Asia Metropolitan University. As the principle academic and administrative representative of the University, Professor Dr. Mohamad Khan ensures the delivery of the academic and operational functions of the University, ensuring its strong alignment to its mission, vision, aims and objectives.
He is also an expert in occupational health and safety management and has had a vast experience in the field of education and academics.
Professor Dr. Mohamad Khan holds an extensive record in the OSH management which includes the designing of the curriculum for Occupational Health and Safety programmes for several public and private universities in Malaysia.He was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Safety and Health at Cyberjaya University of College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) during its formation in 2010 before serving as Acting Vice Chancellor of Asia Metropolitan University.
Professor Dr. Mohamad Khan also serves on the panel of Institutional Auditors for the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).He has taught various courses in Occupational Safety and Health, Human Resource Management and Research Methodology at postgraduate and undergraduate levels and has supervised several PhD and Master’s candidates in Safety and Health Management programmes.
As of date, Professor Dr. Mohamad Khan has published more than 50 journal articles and presented papers and reports on occupational safety and health issues and programmes at both national and international levels. Professor Dr. Mohamad Khan attained several awards during his tenure as an academic, in recognition of his excellent service.
Professor Kanaga Kumari Chelliah graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging from Curtin University, Australia and attained postgraduate qualifications in Education and Medical Physics.
Prof Kanaga started her career in Ministry of Health Hospital as a practicing radiographer. Her strong interest and desire to upgrade the radiography profession in Malaysia became a reality when she was offered to design and implement the Bachelor in Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy (Hons) in 2000 by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. During her illustrious career in MOH and UKM, she held various academic and managerial positions. Prof Kanaga joined Asia Metropolitan University as the Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences on 1st June 2017.
Currently she is a registered Class H consultant with Ministry of Health, responsible to ensure safety standards adhered by X-ray equipment operators. She was appointed by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency as an expert in medical imaging to assess programme standards. She was also in the team to prepare guidelines for the Allied Health Sciences Act. Her contributions in research and publications has been outstanding. Prof Kanaga has been the principal investigator for Science Fund, FRGS and other grants. She has published over 50 articles including chapters in local and international books. She has been invited as a keynote and plenary speaker to various international and national level conferences. Her excellence in teaching and learning has been recognized by various awards for innovation. She has also contributed in many community projects in collaboration with non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Prof Kanaga’s diversified experience has only helped to contribute more towards the excellence of the faculty.
Professor Dr Mohmad Yazam Sharif has a double doctorate degree from two reputable international business schools – a PhD in Management from the School of Management, University of Bradford, England and a Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) from the International Graduate School of Business, University of South Australia in Adelaide.
In addition, Professor Yazam has an MBA degree from Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester, USA. He also has a Bachelor in Economics degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He also has 12 years experience as a banker with Malayan Banking Berhad (1978-1980) and Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (1981 – 1990) where he was involved in staff training and entrepreneurship training. He then joined Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM)(1990 – 2017) as a lecturer where he was involved in lecturer training and entrepreneurship training for more than 20 years. While in UUM, he used to serve as the Deputy Director of University Teaching and Learning Centre (UTLC).
Mr Demudu Naganaidu, Malaysian holds a various number of academic accolades under his wings; Master of Applied Statistics from University Putra Malaysia, Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Methodology from Asia Metropolitan University, Master of Business Administration from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow U.K., and Bachelor of Statistics(Honors) from National University of Malaysia. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Statistics from University Putra Malaysia.
Prior to holding his current position, DemuduNaganaidu was Senior Vice President of Operations after holding many roles in the organization as Vice President Branch Operations, Chief Branch Officer of Ipoh Campus and Manager of Systems and Methods. He also worked as General Manager Operations of Institute Business Executive Malaysia.
Apart from the education industry, Demudu Naganaidu has had vast experiences in the banking and industry sector, having served in the industry for a total of 11 years prior to joining the education sector.
Ms Massumi is the University’s Registrar and Director of the Centre for Academic, Industry and International Collaboration (CAIC) where she is responsible, among others, to create new relationships for future and potential collaboration, to assist academics faculties and students for inbound and outbound of staff and students ex-change programmes, internship programmes, employment opportunities and other related matters pertaining to assisting academics and students in AMU.
Before joining AMU, Ms Massumi served few other academic institutions in Senior Management positions such as the Head of Student Affairs, Admissions and Records (STAAR) for 7 years and was the Programme Coordinator for Foundation Studies for 4 years. She has over 13 years of academic experience. Her passion in education has helped students achieving their dreams.
Ms Massumi holds a Master of Science in Information Management from UiTM, Bachelor of Management (Hons.) from Multimedia University, Diploma in Banking from UiTM and Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Methodology (PGCTM) from AMU. Ms Massumi is also actively involves in sports and fitness activities and besides her academic career she is serving the Community Centre at her living area as Fitness Instructor. She is also active in outdoor recreational activities including running and hiking during her free time.
Prior to her academic career, Ms Massumi was a banker and has served RHB Bank for 12 years in various departments before she decided to change her career direction from banking industry to academia. She has received many incentives and awards during her banking service and besides her academic experience, her industry experience and connections play some crucial parts in her current position leading CAIC.
Y.A.Bhg. Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi bin Haji Zainuddin was appointed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of AFFINBANK on 22 June 2017. He is also a member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees. Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi served in the Malaysian Armed Forces for 39 years, holding many key appointments at both field and Ministerial levels. He was the Chief of Defence Forces with the rank of General from 1 January 1999 until his retirement on 30 April 2005.
Gen (R) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi graduated from the Senior Executive Programme in National and International Security at Harvard University, USA. Prior to that, he also attended the Command and General Staff College in the Philippines, Joint Services Staff College Australia and National Defence College Pakistan. He also holds a Master of Science Degree (Defence and Strategic Studies) Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan.

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. Zulkarnain Awang served as Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Education until 2012. After which, he held the post of Chairman of the Education Service Commission and retired in 2014.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from the University of Malaya, has a Master in Political Science from Ohio University, USA, Master in International Affairs, Ohio University, USA and Advanced Management Programmme the Harvard Business School.
He was the Assistant Director, Ministry of Trade and Industry; Director of INTAN, Secretary General at the Ministry of Federal Territories and Secretary General, Ministry of Education.
Prof. Datuk Dr Megat has held Vice Chancellor positions at Nilai University, MAHSA University and Melaka Manipal Medical College respectively. He has an MBBS degree from the University of Malaya and has attended the Advanced Management Programme at the Harvard Business School.
He served in theMinistry of Health between 1969 to 1999, finally retiring asthe Deputy Director General, Ministry of Health in 1999.
Dr. Mohamad Salmi Mohd Sohod graduated with Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing and Master of Science in Manufacturing/Industrial Management from Western Michigan University, United States of America in 1984. Beginning his career in the education sector, where his true passion lies, Dr. Salmi as he is usually referred as, was first attached to Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Dr. Salmi held various academic positions at UUM including Lecturer in Management Studies and Senior Lecturer in Human Resource &Organisation Development.
Dr. Salmi’s earnest efforts came to maturation when UNITAR was launched on 21 December 1998. His pervasive experience in the academic field led to his appointment as the Professor and simultaneously as Deputy President (Technology) of UNITAR and Chief Executive Officer of United Multimedia SdnBhd, a subsidiary company of UNITAR that develops and manages the e-learning infrastructure and systems of the university.

Associate Professor Dr. Tajmul Rizwan Tajudin is a clinical academician with over 18 years’ experience as a medical practitioner and educator. He graduated from International Islamic University (IIUM) with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2003 and in 2010 attained Membership of Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) and subsequently acquired Fellowship in Diabetes Management from Christian Medical College, India.
As a clinician, he has worked in Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah, Muar (2003-2008), Hospital Angkatan Tentera 94, Terendak (2011-2015) as a visiting physician from Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS), and in University Malaya Medical Center (2015-2017) as a Clinical Fellow in Geriatrics.
His journey as an academician started when he joined Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences as a lecturer in 2011.Dr Tajmul joined Asia Metropolitan University in 2017 as Associate Professor of Medicine. Over the years he has held numerous positions including Deputy Dean Academic and Deputy Dean Student Affairs.
He is a Member of the Malaysian Society of Geriatric Medicine (MSGM), Geriatric Society of India (GSI) and Malaysian Society of Hypertension (MSH). In his leisure time, Dr. Tajmul likes to play tennis and spend time with his family.
Professor DR Raja Lexshimi Raja Gopal (PhD) is the Dean, Faculty of Nursing, Asia Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD in Medical Education from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Masters of Science in Nursing (Monash Uni, SA) and Bachelor of Science (Nursing) from the University of Flinders, (Adelaide, SA). A nurse by profession, she started her nursing career with the Ministry of Health and later switched into the education line in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She did her General nursing in Kubang Kerian Nursing school, Kelantan and later did her specialization in Ophthalmic Nursing and Midwifery nursing. In UKM, she was attached to the nursing department and spent 23 years working in the education field as a lecturer and an associate professor in Nursing.
She has a passion for Gerontology and Oncology nursing and has vast experience in teaching them in the Bachelor Nursing programme. Her vast experience in the field of education has made her involved in many of the curriculum reviews for Bachelor of Nursing programs and Masters program in Midwifery Nursing in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She was also critically involved in the development of the Breast Care Nurse Program curriculum for University Kebangsaan Malaysia, together with another Educationist and Breast cancer surgeon. She has more than 20 journal publications and a few books in hand, the latest being the Book of Nursing Skills. During her tenure as an Associate professor in nursing, she was an appointed member of the Medical Ethics Committee of Faculty of Medicine, UKM from Mac 2013 till Mac 2017 and Coordinator and Advisor for Research Development and Innovation, for the Department of Nursing from April 2015 to August 2017.
Most importantly, she was also appointed as one of the Resource person for Screening and Approval of Ethics Proposal for members and students of the Medical faculty UKM. Her vast experience and popularity in the field of breast cancer nursing research which is her niche have led her to present many papers as well as an invited speaker in many nursing conferences and Seminars in breast cancer research. She also won the Cancer Nursing Research Award in 2005 published by the Cancer Nursing Journal on the Research Paper titled: A Comparison Of The Information Needs Of Women Newly Diagnosed With Breast Cancer in Malaysia & the United Kingdom.
Prof Raja Lexshimi was appointed as a Dean, Faculty of Nursing in January 2018 and aspires to see nursing in Asia Metropolitan University produce professional and efficient nurses to meet the needs of the health care industry.
